I have been watching a ton of videos lately all about using color and different elements, layering, dimension and different textures. My stash is limited so I've been trying to incorporate things I already have or have around the house to use on my projects. I've been having a great time doing so. I think I'm finally giving in to that nasty cold that everyone's been coming over and coughing on me, way to share germs! Anyway, I made the box below for a friend and I used some pretty butterflies that were on a page so I fussy cut them out. I have added a nice sharp pair of scissor's to my wish list!! Take a look!!
I think it turned out really great and I've been inspired to look more closely at my paper for embellishments!! Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed it!!

Random Act of Kindness
Today in the mail I received a package from Richard Breaks. Included were stamp sets, paper and embellishments and he made a beautiful card and some tags and included them in the package. Words can't express how thankful I am!! His artwork is pictured below:
So beautiful!! Take a look at Richard's Blog - he makes some awesome things!!
Christmas Thank You Box and Card
At Christmas time a family adopted us and I made them a card and a box. Thier daughter passed away last year just after Christmas and they adoped us in honor of her memory. They included some pictures of her and we also have some pictures of her. We have made copies of the pictures and will put them in the box with the card. I hope they like it. I had a good time making it.
This is the cover of the box that I altered to hold the card and pictures.
Here is the inside of the box.
Here is the card that I made. I've been experimenting with making my own flowers. I like the way the rose turned out. I didn't think of it, I found it on http://www.card-making-magic.com/ . It's under videos and it's called Paper Roses. There's a lot of helpful information at that website.
Thanks for looking!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Over the holidays I was able to make a few gifts for friends and family. I took toiliet paper rolls and covered them in paper and put little candies inside them and folded the ends down. I finished them off by putting bows on them.
I also made an advent calendar for the grandkids. I think it turned out really awesome. I used some Christmas paper I got for my birthday. I had fun making it and on the other side of the little boxes I decorated for Halloween.

I also made some pretty little boxes. I intend to make cards to put in them to give as gifts throughout the year. I only made a few and gave the empty boxes to a few people. I found a tutorial on Gina K. Designs to make the boxes - really easy and very cute.
That's all that I have for now - I have very limited space and supplies but I will try to make projects more frequently. I really enjoy it and it helps to keep me balance. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year!!

What doesn't kill us!!
I have high hopes of being able to start posting crafty things again soon!! I have made a few things for Christmas: an advent calendar for the grandkids and some little candy treasures out of toliet paper rolls decorated with paper and filled with candy for friends and family. And last night it snowed a whole bunch, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!! I'm going to be spending Christmas at home and a couple friends said they'd stop by so I'm looking forward to that. I'm on the road to recovery after having emergency surgery to untwist my bowels a week ago - that was a trip! But all is well now, hopefully the world doesn't end tonight!!

Spring Balloons
I made another couple cards today. The hardest part about making cards for me is finding a color pallete that works and doesn't take forever to put together. I also have noticed that I don't have stamp sets that are just simple greetings...I'm going to have to start keeping my eye out for some good deals. Anyway, enjoy the cards!

Easter
My daughter made a wonderful Easter dinner - yummy ham, homemade scalloped pototoes, beans, ramaki, stuffed mushrooms and a relish tray...soo good, sooo full!
Anyway, I created a monkey card today cause my granddaughter is a bit of a monkey but she's so cute you can't resist her. I used the Birthday Bash and the Once Upon a Princess cartridges, a martha stewart border punch and of course some stickles and a little bow. Enjoy!

Bright Spring Colors!
I made another card yesterday. For Christmas my grandchildren got these markers that are simply circles in all kinds of bright colors. One day we spent some time making background back by stamping all different colors of circles all over white paper...turned out really cute and the grands enjoyed doing it. That is the paper I used for the mat on this card. The grandkids each made a card as well but I don't know where they are or I'd post thier creations as well! Anyway - here it is. Enjoy!!

Another Card
Hi again! I made another card! I used the Rock Princess cartridge for the rose. I rounded the corners of the background papers and added some stickles to bling it up. I had fun making this card. I'm working on another card that I will post later today or tomorrow - it's not quite finished...
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

As Promised!
Wow! It's been a long time since I was able to post anything! I finally got my Cricut out and starting making cards again. I'm excited to be able to do what I love, even if I don't have much room to do it in!!
Here is an Easter Card I made using Doodle Charms and Designer's Calendar. I also used the Cricut Craftroom application to weld "Happy" and "Easter" together and then cut. It got bumped before it was completely dry, thus the smear. Oooh well...lol!
I made this card as well. It was colored for me by my grand-daughter...lol!

I am now out of the hospital and recovering..it's been a long haul but I'm getting back to normal. I'm hoping to get my crafting back to normal as I really miss it. Please be patient with me as I continue to recover and get my life back on track!!

I do have some great projects planned! Thank you all for being patient with me - I promise to be better in the future as soon as I'm settle again!!

Sneak-Peek Mini-Pocket Album!
I had so much fun making the last one, I'm making another one. The hardest part for me is picking the colors, once I have the colors picked I'm into it!! I tend to take a few days when I'm designing something. I'm making another Sun-Catcher soon as well, that design is still being worked out in my head. The ribbon is the ribbon I'm planning ot use on this project - such happy colors!!
Card I thought I posted before...
And this card is the inspiration for the next mini-pocket album I'm going to make. I think this card is simple and elegant - could be for many occassions.

Paper Flowers
I've been playing around for a while on ways to make your own embellishments...paper flowers. I've tried lots of different ideas, some with no success at all and all that I ended up with is balls of paper and glue and everything all sticky!! Anyway, I made these and I don't think they turned out too bad, of course having the right adhesive would probably help some!! I used just about all the good adhesive I had on the Mini-Pocket Album....but soo worth it. So here's my flowers that I made - remember, comments, suggestions are always welcome!!
I think these flower's have potential, but I don't like how they hook together!! I took 1 1/2" circles and folded them in half. Then I took a Bamboo Chopstick and folded and played with the circles until they resembeled petals - they could easily be manipulated into leaves as well. I want to figure out a better way to hook them together and it may just be that I'm not using the right adhesive, but as always, suggestions are welcomed!!
Thanks, Julie for asking about these flowers!!
